Loras College Provost Cheryl Jacobsen, Ph.D. has announced the names of students who achieved Dean's List status for the 2015 spring semester. A student must earn a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours to be recognized.

Vuntin Garden Club News: Poster contest winners named
The Vinton Garden Club member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., District II and Central Region met Wednesday at 11:00 am May 27, 2015 at the 218 Roadside Park that the Garden Club maintains. Nine members attended the potluck, program, meeting and then scraping paint from post and shelter. Joyce Bratten gave the program on dividing perennials.

VS FFA members attend Chapter Officer Leadership Training event
On Wednesday, June 3, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Officer Team joined many other officer teams in the Northeast District at Hawkeye Community College to attend COLT, or Chapter Officer Leadership Training.
COLT started off with opening ceremony with the Northeast District Officers then separating the officers into their groups based on the office held.
Alexander McGee graduates from Cornell College
Alexander McGee of Vinton (52349) was one of 271 students to graduate from Cornell College on May 10.
McGee graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics .
